This is a new two-storey extension project located near Hexham, Northumberland.
The extension will accommodate the footprint of a series of existing inappropriate offshoots to the rear of the property, which back directly onto a shared access drive.
The key aim of the proposal is providing a high-quality home appropriate both to its surrounding context whilst also meeting the client’s requirements.
The stone of the existing offshoots will be reused to form a ground floor ‘plinth’. This will accommodate a dual aspect open plan kitchen diner, boot room and plant room.
Above the plinth will sit a new master bedroom suite and family bathroom.
The first floor spaces are vaulted and the exterior will be entirely clad in black standing seam zinc, as reference to the dark agricultural barns which surround the site.
